Dry Mouth

Dry Mouth or xerostomia, refers to a condition in which your saliva glands do not make enough saliva to keep your mouth moisturised! This can be caused by some medications, cancer treatments, ageing or a condition which is directly affecting the saliva glands themselves.

Saliva is important for your mouth because it helps prevent tooth decay by neutralising acids produced by bacteria, which in turn limits bacterial growth and washes away food particles. Saliva also helps you to taste better and aids digestion by releasing enzymes.

Lack of saliva can be an irritation to anyone who suffers with the condition. Approach Medical can supply a number of different products which can help fight dry mouth conditions whatever the underlying issue.

Please see our range of products for more information, or alternatively contact one of our product specialists who will be happy to discuss the products with you!
